The limitations and proposals to improve the relations between the academy and decision-makers in the socioeconomic sphere are exposed, considering the key role of management cadres at all levels of the economy. Although the complexity of the economy indicates that it cannot be left alone to the economists; This should not imply extreme positions that underestimate and ignore their contribution, their different criteria and alternative solutions to problems. Approval of decisions with genuinely democratic methods must also be considered. Until now, frankly vulgar conceptions about the economy and in particular about the business system have been evidenced, which have been justified on repeated occasions, under a false defense of the ideology in the socialist transition
