In order to achieve the objectives set out in its National Economic and Social Development Plan through 2030, Cuba needs to have a solid, diversified, articulated and complementary productive structure. It represents a challenge for the country to make the changes foreseen in the Conceptualization of the Cuban economic and social development model to adapt the current dynamics and requirements of international economic development. The objective of the paper is to evaluate the current productive structure, measuring the relative importance and complementarity of the sectors in national economy, based on indicators of the National Accounts System. The main results reflect sectoral imbalances and small sectoral complementarity, low productive linkages, asymmetries development of provinces, low complexity exportable products with limited added value.
