Abstract
FARRAY GONZALEZ, Jesús Francisco et al. Reduction of subclinical mastitis by catgut implantation at the acutpoint Stomach 29. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2015, vol.37, n.2, pp. 86-93. ISSN 2224-4700.
A study with a transversal design was carried out on the bovine population of Rancho Lupita, Aguascalientes, México, from June to July, 2013.The objective was to reduce mastitis prevalence and to increase the recovery of quarters or animals through actions and procedures of prevention and control. To determine prevalence, mastitis was diagnosed by an individual physical exam, CMT, somatic cell counts, and bacteriological isolation. For mastitis reduction, disease control and prevention measures were applied, and the recovery of quarters and affected animals was evaluated by using the catgut implantation at the acutpoint S-29. By applying implants of absorbable sutures at the acutpoint E-29 for the subclinical mastitis treatment in cows of the Holstein race, it was possible to recover 65% of the animals treated. This research allowed verifying the reduction of subclinical mastitis prevalence by using actions and procedures of prevention and control.
