Abstract
RODRIGUEZ DIEGO, Jesús Gregorio and OLIVARES OROZCO, Javier Lorenzo. Parasite vaccines: a literature review. Rev Salud Anim. [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.3 Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 2224-4700.
A bibliographic compilation was carried out in informative databases: Academic Search Complete (EBSCO), Scopus and Web of Science, from 1965 to 2019, with the aim of compiling the main researches carried out with a view to achieving immunogens against the most important parasites in humans and animals. The advances obtained are mainly evidenced in Plasmodium falciparum, Giardia lamblia, Leishmania spp., Toxoplasma gondii, Taenia solium, Schistosoma mansoni, and Rhipicephalus microplus, among other pathogenic parasites. It is concluded that the development of parasite vaccines is a major challenge and it is currently focused on new works on molecular biology to select more effective antigens, as well as strategies to search for new adjuvants to support the appropriate targeting of the immune response.
