Resumen
ERRAEZ, Romney Marconi Mora y MANOSALVA, Carlos Valarezo. Impact of mineral fertilization and amendments on Gmelina arborea and Schizolobium parahyba in andesitic soils of the Ecuadorian Amazon. Ctro. Agr. [online]. 2018, vol.45, n.4, pp. 49-58. ISSN 0253-5785.
The research was realized at “Los Zapotes” site, “Panguintza” parish, “Centinela del Cóndor” canton of “Zamora Chinchipe” province, with the objective of generating alternatives for commercial reforestation of the degraded areas by the effect of cattle raising. The arrangement of the experiment was in subdivided plots (2x2x3) distributed in random blocks, with three repetitions and twelve treatments that correspond to the combination of three factors: a) two arboreal species: Gmelina arborea Roxb. ex Sm. and Schizolobium parahyba (Vell.) S.F. Blak; b) without and with fertilization. After two years the fertilization determined significant differences in the variables height, basal diameter and diameter of chest height in the two species. The applications of 3 and 6 t ha-1 of vegetal coal did not have effects on the growth of arboreal species. In all treatments the aerial biomass of Melina was higher than the Pachaco. There was also higher accumulation of carbon in the soil and in the biomass in the treatments applied to the Melina.
