Abstract

ESPINOSA AGUILERA, Wilfredo; RIOS ALBUERNE, Cristóbal  and  DIAZ ERCIA, Tuly. Ecological production of the tomato Solanum Lycopersicum L. (var. Campbell 28) with use of natural zeolita mixed with bovine dung. Ctro. Agr. [online]. 2021, vol.48, n.1, pp. 23-27.  Epub Jan 01, 2021. ISSN 0253-5785.

During a harvest, this work was carried out in a typical dairy of the “El Tablon” Livestock Company, Cienfuegos, in which the natural organomineral fertilizer (Zeofert) was made and applied with the aim of increasing the yield and quality of the tomato (Var. Campbell-28) and improve the soil, using an agroecological technique. For the elaboration of Zeofert, the fresh empty excreta deposited by the animals on the floor of the shaded rooms was used, which was mixed by the animals themselves with their feet with Natural Zeolitic Rock (RZN) particles with a granulometry of 1- 5 mm in a ratio of 3-1 (fresh manure-zeolitic rock). After 45 days of decomposition, the compost obtained was applied to the soil manually at a dose of 25 t ha-1. The results obtained showed that the application of Zeofert increased the tomato yield by 38 % and the quality in terms of the diameter of the fruit; on the other hand, the soil contents of N, P2O5, K2O, Ca++, Organic Matter and pH values increased. The use of 25 t ha-1 of Zeofert is recommended for organic tomato cultivation.
