Since last century, teenage motherhood is considered a global health problem. International statistics reflect its presence in almost all countries, though the most affected areas are Africa and Latin America. The present work presents some ideas on the characteristics of this gender and health problem in Cuba and Angola. A comparative analysis is performed which considers the location in specific regional and national contexts; with some similarities and differences.

Keywords : teenage motherhood; gender; patriarchal culture; sexual and reproductive health.
