The present essay is intended to analyze how the views of US-American artists and writers, exposed in periodical medias since 1959 to 1960, aided setting up the Cuban social imaginary of US-American culture and contributing to project a way of thinking about USA onto Cuba. It includes a sort of cartography of the general representation of the political, economic and social relationships between Cuba and USA deduced of examining an heterogonous set of periodicals differing the ways to understand culture and political events in the period, namely Lunes de Revolución, Diario de la Marina, Noticias de Hoy, El Mundo, Casa de las Américas and Bohemia.
