Don Quixote and Sancho Panza's visit to Barcelona, in the second part of Cervantes's novel, supposed a significant change of direction in its evolution and utterly result. There, the knight errant gets in contact with a reality that it uses and changes him completely. Parallel, this contact with Barcelona as a space, and with the subjects that integrates it, produces some criteria of value concerning identity questions that participates of the construction of a "Catalonian paradigm". However, a more deep study of Cervantes' work reveals that such opinions on the Catalonians is not limited to this particular, but scattered inside his entire literary production, which allows us to highlight matters than can be designated as identity marks on the Catalonian Culture studies.
