Abstract

MARTINEZ ABREU, Yohana Beatriz. About Corpus, Attenuation, and Discourse Markers in Colloquial Speech of Havana. UH [online]. 2018, n.285, pp. 85-100. ISSN 0253-9276.

To build an image of Cubans, their linguistic characterization that goes beyond written grammar rules is inevitable. The study of colloquial Spanish in Cuba has a representative corpus (Habana Español Colloquial, Hab.Es.Co.) which allows several linguistic phenomena of a currently Pan-Hispanic nature to be continuously systematized and synchronically analyzed. In accordance with this type of research, such research topics as attenuation as a pragmatic and discursive phenomenon, discourse markers, verbal (im)politeness, and so on, have been preferably dealt with, because all of them are based on colloquial conversation, which allows different linguistic areas to be compared.

Keywords : Español coloquial; Colloquial Spanish; Discourse Markers; "Bueno" (well/good); Pragmatics.
