Starting from the definition of cultural indicator, some relevant experiences in culture appraisal are presented, with the aim of sharing the methodology used in different applied pieces of research. The selection of models was made, based on five distinct experiences gained in several contexts. Various approaches to the construction of indicators were taken in the different cases, with there being different appraisal-related goals.
