Abstract: The linkage between sugar cane, its industry and its derivatives with diseases, therapeutic procedures, hygiene and health in the Cuban colonial period is attested, through the revision of the vocabulary obtained from several documents, and its comparison with lexicographical sources, for determine their level of specialization and chronic dating, which at the same time gives some clues about the development of medicine in Cuba.
