Abstract

LOPEZ BAUTA, Adis Aymee; HERNANDEZ CEDENO, Eniuska  and  REY RODRIGUEZ, Gretter Anaudina. Loving Attachment of Young University Students in Havana. UH [online]. 2020, n.290, pp.138-157.  Epub Nov 01, 2020. ISSN 0253-9276.

An exploratory-descriptive study was carried out, with a non-experimental design and quantitative methodology, whose objective was to characterize the attachment to the couple in young university students. The sample was composed by 353 young people from three universities of Havana, Cuba. It was used the relationship questionnaire and a version of the linked models, and the results were analyzed through the Statistical Packet for Social Sciences (SPSS). They showed that the percentage distribution of attachment to the couple was represented in a descending way by the styles: sure, worried, fearful and avoidant. Most of the young people in the study had positive mental representations of themselves and their partners. Their representations of the current and ideal relationship are interdependent. The sex variable correlated significantly with the mental representations of others, with the needs for romantic love and care, and with the ideal bonding model.

Keywords : attachment; youth; couple relationships.
