Abstract

The article responds to the need to contribute to the enrichment of an important category of political science such as political participation. From its theoretical-methodological foundations, it focuses on an economic and political actor very little studied from this discipline: the small and medium private landowner. The definition of this category and that of its political participation is worked, from which political foundations are identified, contributed both by the theory and by the revolutionary practice, of its participation in the fulfillment of its social function during the process of transition to socialism in Cuba.
