Abstract

This article deals with the diversity of properties that are part of the sites of memory of slavery in Cuba, the process of identification of the different typologies of immovable properties that are recognized as such and the work methodology developed, including the classifications and evaluations related to their values, state of conservation and exceptionality; the latter expressed from their recognition and legal protection. Typical indicators for the characterization of cultural heritage are taken as comparative parameters, the degree of evolution in time of the properties and their management is analyzed, as well as their representativeness in the list of National and Local Monuments of the Republic of Cuba and the advances in the recognition and protection of this particular cultural heritage in the last years.
