Abstract

ORTIZ LEFORT, Verónica; PEREZ MORA, Ricardo; QUEVEDO HUERTA, Lourdes Nayeli  and  MAISTERRA SIERRA, Olvia Alejandra. An Analytic Look to Scientific Research Policies in Mexico:: its Orientation Towards the Public University. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2015, vol.34, n.1, pp.44-59. ISSN 0257-4314.

The article is aimed at presenting an analysis of the main research policies in Mexico and their incidence on the university scientific research. The analysis of the discourse method was used with the goal of going deep into the in-fluence and resolutions passed by agencies such as the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, and Secretaría de Educación . Main tendencies of such policies are the following: their orientation towards the public university, and the influence that these institutions' evaluation exer-cises exert on the training of some social and cultural practices. Such forces the university research to orient itself towards the fulfillment of the indicators established by those institutions, though it is necessary to highlight that the university researchers carry out excellent researches at national and international levels.

Keywords : university scientific research; social and cultural practices; public university.
