Abstract

PINO RODRIGUEZ, Aliuska Xiomara  and  CARVAJAL DE LA OSA, Janet. The Use of Audiovisual Teaching Materials in Interdisciplinary Training for Biomedical Engineering Students. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2019, vol.38, n.3  Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 0257-4314.

Basic Biomedical Sciences, also known as Life Sciences, are the foundations of interdisciplinary training in Biomedical Engineering. Despite of being aware of that, however, actors in teaching-learning process fail to act accordingly, so there are still shortcomings in this training. That is why a methodology is suggested in this paper for professors to give more interesting classes with increased scientific rigor, and for students to be highly motivated. The methodology includes the use of two audiovisual teaching materials: one of them deals with the physiology of organ systems, and the other, with clinical engineering. A survey conducted showed that the methodology achieves its goals.

Keywords : audiovisual teaching materials; biomedical engineer; interdisciplinary.
