Abstract

DE ARMAS URQUIZA, Roberto  and  TAMAYO PINEDA, Noris. The Master of Public Administration at the University of Havana - Its Relevance and Impact. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2019, vol.38, n.3  Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 0257-4314.

Postgraduate education in Cuba is part of continuing education to which all Cuban citizens have universal access. The Master of Public Administration program at the University of Havana is unique in Cuba and intended mainly for people serving in some positions within the public sector. External evaluation and accreditation by the National Accreditation Board is the current way of demonstrating that a postgraduate program is of excellent quality. In this case, different variables and quality indicators are evaluated, such as relevance and impact. In this paper, in tune with the concept of university social responsibility, the relevance and impact of the Master of Public Administration program are assessed. The program was accredited by the National Accreditation Board in 2016, with this recognizing its excellence.

Keywords : Master’s degrees of high quality; university social responsibility; university-society relation.
