Abstract

ACTA CARABALLO, Yolanda. An Educational Neuroscience-Based Teaching Model for Dominican Teachers. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2019, vol.38, n.3, e14.  Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 0257-4314.

Nowadays, neuroscience is playing an increasingly important role in education. Teachers are currently waiting for a new and revolutionary way of teaching. Recently, educational neuroscience has drawn attention to some relevant epistemological and conceptual issues in findings made in neuroscience research, which can help in curriculum implementation. The neuropsychological intervention suggested is based on a previous empirical research on the sociodemographic, training-related, and motivational characteristics of a representative sample of teachers. The results obtained allowed an educational neuroscience-based teaching model for Dominican teachers in the same educational stage to be suggested. This model has five aspects which are as follows: neuropsychological, cognitive, emotional, social, and academic.

Keywords : learning; teaching; plasticity; neuroscience.
