Academics are required to be trained in various areas of knowledge, including sciences and research, and know the latest advances of science and technology, so they will be able to perform well. Additionally, they should be given some training in psychology and sociology, so they will be able to communicate with students and have an influence on them. All these aspects are also teaching skills. This paper is aimed at examining them in order to make suggestions for programs intended for academics to develop professionally.
