Abstract

HIDALGO VALDES, María-Cristina; CARRASCO-VELAR, Ramón  and  DIAZ-BRAVO, Tito. A New Perspective on Peer Tutoring. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2020, vol.39, n.1  Epub Apr 01, 2020. ISSN 0257-4314.

This paper describes an experience in peer tutoring with fourth and fifth year students at the University of Informatics Sciences. The project Action for Vocational Guidance and Motivation was made, with these students tutoring students at schools located in the nearby community, and taking action to arouse interest in studying informatics sciences. The results show that motivating action is different from peer tutoring, because it includes depictions of live inside the campus and explanations of what informatics sciences are, which is why the term motivating tutoring is coined.

Keywords : higher education; career guidance; peer tutoring.
