Abstract

DIAZ-MORO, Edith-María; GONGORA-GISBERT, Ayan-Michel  and  ALVAREZ-MERINO, Elemnia. Dance-Related Local Identity in Initial Training of Student Art Teachers. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2020, vol.39, n.1  Epub Apr 01, 2020. ISSN 0257-4314.

Cuban universities train art teachers, in whom a love of local values should be instilled. Dance can enhance sensitivity and the ability to express oneself, make people feel well and be willing to collaborate, share space and feelings of success or failure, so they can show their own values. This is why this study was aimed at performing teaching activities which would allow student art teachers at the University of Las Tunas, located in the Cuban province of the same name, to identify with the dance-related local identity. This is due to the need for our traditions to be kept up, which distinguish us the Cubans living in this province from other Cubans and the rest of the world. The results show that these activities have achieved their goal, and helped comprehensive training.
