Abstract

GUERRERO-NARBAJO, Yuly; ROSARIO-QUIROZ, Fernando  and  SANTOS-MOROCHO, José. Design and validation of the Self-Assessment Scale of Formative Research Skills (EAHIF) in university students. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2023, vol.42, n.2  Epub May 20, 2023. ISSN 0257-4314.

The objective was to design and analyze the psychometric properties of EAHIF in university students from Lima, Peru. Instrumental research, the sample for the exploratory factor analysis was 616 students and for the confirmatory factor analysis, 644 students. Content validity was obtained through expert judgment and Aiken's V validity coefficient. The construct validity was carried out through exploratory factor analysis, finding three dimensions: Thinking skills, Ability to write academically and Ability to communicate information, with a total of 17 items. In the confirmatory factorial analysis with adequate fit indexes X2/gl=1.237; IFC= 991; RMSEA= .019; SRMR= .041 CFI=.997; TLI= .997. Reliability through the omega coefficient, the general scale Ω= .898. It is concluded that the EAHIF presents evidence of content and construct validity and adequate reliability.

Keywords : Formative research - exploratory factor analysis - confirmatory factor analysis.
