Abstract

HERNANDEZ, María; SALGADO, Julia M; CHAILLOUX, Marisa  and  NASAROVA, Larissa. EVALUACIÓN AGRONÓMICA DE FERTILIZANTES LÍQUIDOS CUBANOS EN EL CULTIVO PROTEGIDO DEL TOMATE (SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM L.) HÍBRIDO HA 3019. cultrop [online]. 2008, vol.29, n.1, pp. 73-81. ISSN 0258-5936.

The present study was carried out at Liliana Dimitrova Horticultural Research Institute, with the objective of evaluating the agronomic effectiveness of the liquid fertilizer line produced by Revolución de Octubre Chemical Enterprise in Nuevitas, Camagüey, on the protected cultivation of HA 3019 tomato hybrid. Two fertigation designs with different fertilizer sources were studied, guaranteeing for both a similar electrical conductivity and macronutrient concentration in the nutrient solution. The following Cuban liquid formulas 5-10-5, 6-6-6, 3-0-11 (KNO3) y 8-0-0-17 Ca (NO3)2 were included in the first design whereas the imported single salts H3PO4, K2SO4 y MgSO4, KNO3 y Ca(NO3)2 in the second one. Plant height, growth rate, leaf macroelement content, total yield and yield per size, some yield components, some external and nutritional fruit quality components, as well as fruit weight losses at postharvest conservation were determined. Similar yields were achieved in both designs, which were considered acceptable for the experimental period: 67,08 and 68,11 t/ha, and about 91 % of the production was qualified as extra+first category. Not a differentiated effect was recorded for yield components or the external (strength, inner color disorder, mesocarp and endocarp diameters) and internal quality variables (dry matter, total soluble solids, acidity, pH, vit C and N-P-K contents); meanwhile postharvest losses showed statistical differences just after 21 days, the least percentages being recorded by liquid fertilizers. From the agronomical point of view, it is feasible to include liquid formulas in the tomato fertigation program for protected cultivation
