ORTIZ PEREZ, Rodobaldo; ANGARICA, Lydia and GUEVARA-HERNANDEZ, Francisco. Gains on farms participating in the Local Agricultural Innovation Programme (PIAL) in Cuba. Cost/benefit analysis of the intervention. cultrop [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.3, pp. 107-112. ISSN 0258-5936.
The Local Agricultural Innovation Programme (PIAL) has a wide spread of shares in hundreds of farms, looking for local alternatives that will provide solutions to the needs of sustainable agro-ecological basis, it is necessary to demonstrate the effectiveness of economic development at farm. The cost-benefit analysis is a decision-making tool to systematically develop useful information about the effects desirable and necessary. We used the net proceeds from farms direct benefit to the project. Was selected as the base year 2006 (before starting the second phase of the project) and for the years 2007 to 2010 were surveyed farms in various provinces to determine the amount of sales, the consumption and the estimated cost of production. The survey results allowed us to estimate the cost of production annually, representing from 2006 to 2008 to 30 % in 2009 to 31 % and in 2010 32 % of sales and consumption estimated was 1000 pesos in 2006 and 2007, increasing from 1200, 1500 and 2000 pesos monthly from 2008 to 2010 respectively. Rates of cost / benefit obtained are positive and promising, but the important thing is that the process is designed and implemented sustainable and will continue to grow and add more benefits from the dissemination of experiences
