Abstract

Molecular chimerism in the allogeneic transplantation of hematopoietic cells: Preliminary results . Rev Cubana Hematol Inmunol Hemoter [online]. 2005, vol.21, n.3. ISSN 0864-0289.

The study of chimerism in the allogeneic transplantation of hematopoietic cells allows to know  if the the lymphohematopoietic system of the donor has been able to implant itself in the recipient and if it does it by totally displacing the lymphohematopoietic system of the recepient or coexisting with it. Polymerase chain reaction is used to amplify the highly polymorphic DNA zones. The first results of the mollecular study of chimerism in 12 patients with different malignant and nonmalignant pathologies are shown. This study made possible to determine if the transplant was successful and to evaluate the graft ' s evolution

Keywords : Chimerism; allogeneic transplantation; hematopoietic cells.
