Abstract

SOCARRAS FERRER, Bertha Beatriz et al. Study of the T-lymphocyte subpopulations in pediatric patients with conal-truncal cardiovascular abnormalities. Rev Cubana Hematol Inmunol Hemoter [online]. 2006, vol.22, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-2996.

The T-lymphocyte subpopulations were studied in 20 pediatric patients with conal-truncal cardiovascular abnormalities by the alkaline phosphatase alkaline antiphosphatase method with the anti-CD3, anti-CD4, and anti-CD8 specific monoclonal antibodies. 25 apparently sound individuals were selected as the  control group. Significant differences were obtained for the CD3- and CD4-positive T cell subpopulations (p< 0.05). The cellular immunological deficit found in these patients shows the need to include immunomodulators in their treatment to prevent septic complications

Keywords : T-lymphocyte subpopulation; conal-truncal cardiovasuclar abnormalities; cellular immunity.
