Abstract
HERNANDEZ RAMIREZ, Porfirio. Is it really useful the treatment with regenerative cell therapy?. Rev Cubana Hematol Inmunol Hemoter [online]. 2017, vol.33, n.1, pp. 1-13. ISSN 1561-2996.
Regenerative Medicine is fundamentally based on cell therapy, administration of bioactive factors, tissue engineering and gene therapy. According to their evolutionary state, stem cells can be classified into embryonics and adults. Recently were obtained cells with embryonic characteristics by reprogramming adult cells and have been called induced pluripotent stem cells. Already have been made significant progress in cell therapy using adult stem cells, which have significant advantages over embryonic cells, because its handling is simpler, and can be obtained from the own individual to be treated. The results obtained in Cuba show the benefits that cell therapy can bring to patients with no other therapeutic options and especially under strict scientific control.
