An increased oxidative stress has been reported during aging and the diseases associated to it. Although the molecular mechanisms triggering the phenomenon of aging are unknown, a number of hypotheses have been franed on this subject. The present article deals with biochemical aspect of free radicals and oxidate cell metabolism as a possible causes of senescence.
