A six-month study of 56 patients, who went to the Emergency Room Services of "Pablo Noriega" Teaching Polyclinics in Quivican because they had bronchail asthma fits, was performed. The general objective of this paper was to contribute to learning the use of acupunture therapy in bronchial asthma. Its specific purposes were to show the effectiveness of acupunture in treating this disease, to reduce asthma fits by applying this therapy in our municipality and find out the characteristics of the group in which the best results are obtained. The treatment of these patients revealed that 87.5 % improved their health condition after applying this thousand-years old method. None of them had nay complication, only 7 patients did not show any remission. Response to treatment is the same regardless of age and sex. Acupunture proved to be efficient, easy-to-apply and economical in addition to contributing to less frequent asthma fits.
