Abstract
RAMOS CALA, Edith Elena; DIAZ GRAJALES, Dania and QUINTERO GARCIA, Jesús. Experiencia de enfermería en la aplicación de microdosis y homeopatía contra el tabaquismo. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 1999, vol.15, n.2, pp. 123-128. ISSN 1561-2961.
A retrospective crosswise study to evaluate nurse's experiences in the application of microdoses and homeopathy in the Traditional and Natural Medicine Services of Southern Pediatrics Hospital in Santiago de Cuba was undertaken during 1996 and 1997. The objective was to discourage smoking in a sample of 110 randomy chosen patients who were treated in this institution and interviewed. The analysis of the outcome disclosed that most of patients had began smoking when they were very young; hypertension prevailed in the history of associated diseases and nicotine was the most efficient drug for males. The treatment assessment showed that in addition to being a simple, harmless and lowcost method, it also assured that the majority of patients give up smoking 15 days after treatment approximately. It is recommended that a club for discouraging smoking be created in every family physician and nurse's office supported by a psychologist.
