Abstract

A cross-sectional and descriptive study of 23 HIV/AIDS patients hospitalized in «El Caguayo» sanatorium, in the municipality of San Luis, Santiago de Cuba, during the first semester of 1997, was conducted aimed at making a screening of pulmonary tuberculosis. The most affected ages ranged between l5 and 34, with predominance of the male sex. The most frequent symptoms were: cough, expectoration and febricula. No case with the afore mentioned affection was diagnosed; however, chemoprophylactic treatment with isionazide was applied to the whole sample.
