Abstract

AMARO CANO, María del Carmen. Aspectos históricos y éticos de la publicación científica. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 2001, vol.17, n.3, pp.194-200. ISSN 0864-0319.

A historical review on the appearance and development of the scientific publication is made, making emphasis on the ethical aspects, which create limitations in the scientific research from 2 points of view: on one hand, the restrictions of what is considered as acceptable in the name of science in relation to the rights of the living beigns, specially of the human beigns and, on the other hand, the type of problems that may be solved by the scientific method. Another important ethical aspect to be taken into account in the scientific research and publication is the acknowledgement to the contribution made by other authors before, and this is expressed in the right annotation of the citations and bibliographical references, as well as in the relation of the main authors and the works that were consulted that allowed to make a detailed examination of the history of the topic being studied by the researcher. The importance of these aspects is stressed, specially at this moment of great impulse of science and technique in the field of Informatics applied to health sciences. Therefore, it is proposed the establishment of Ethics Committees to analyze these questions in the different phases of the research process, including the publication specially.
