MARTINS DA SILVA, Viviane; VENICIOS DE OLIVEIRA LOPES, Marcos  and  LEITE DE ARAUJO, Thelma. Validation of a playing resource for cardiovascular health education. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 2004, vol.20, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-2961.

A didactic-instructive material was constructed to be used in school children during the cardiovascular health education practices. The descriptive study was based on the construction and validation of an educative technology on the "Arterial Hypertension" topic. The work was divided into 5 stages. Stage 1 consisted in the development of and educative booklet on the selected topic. Stage 2 was characterized by the application of the booklet to school children. Stage 3 was the revision of the answers given to the questions included in the booklet. The preliminary results allowed to remodel the presentation of the educative material contained in the booklet that turned into a more illustrative and colorful book. Stage 4 was the analysis of the educative book by specialists in children's books and education. Stage 5 was the utilization of the book among 24 school children from other school. After the accomplishment of the 5 stages, it was concluded that the proposed educative resource was an efficient tool in the development of cardiovascular health education activities in children during the studied period.
