Abstract

PEREZ DE ALEJO, Beatriz  and  GARCIA DIEZ, Pedro. Satisfaction degree of the population with the nursing services in a health area. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 2005, vol.21, n.2, pp. 1-1. ISSN 1561-2961.

A descriptive and retrospective study was conducted in the population of Perea in the health area corresponding to Venegas Polyclinic, taking into account the opinion existing about the nurse-patient relationship and about the nurse's role in the community. The objective of this paper was to show the satisfaction degree of the population with the nursing work by doing a survey. It was found that 68.5 % of the population felt satisfied with the nursing care in this area and with the nurse-patient relationship. The indicator "interest for the patient" showed the highest percentages of satisfaction and that of "efficiency" the lowest. In the sample studied, 82.3 % knew their nurse 3 years ago. In spite of the fact that the nursing care provided in this area is good for most of the population, it is necessary to reflect on the possible aspects of the nursing work that hinder the satisfaction of the population in important indicators.

Keywords : Satisfaction degree; nursing services.
