Abstract

Since its first years, at the beginning of the XX century, the practical teaching of nursing has been developed in the health centres. Nowadays, health and education centres in Chile are being evaluated. Through recognition, it is being verified if the processes in education and health are generating a quality product. From that perspective, it is necessary the accreditation of the clinical fields, since in them it is possible the theoretical-practical integration, which is essential for the nursing student training, and abilities of human interaction with persons needing care are acquired, among other variables associated with the practical competence. In order to unify the criteria about the accreditation of the nursing clinical fields, some aspects related to the present process of accreditation of clinical fields for teaching nursing will be analyzed.
