Giardiasis: estudio de las afecciones cutáneas en una serie de 30 pacientes con la enfermedad. Rev Cubana Med Gen Integr [online]. 1997, vol.13, n.6, pp. 551-554. ISSN 1561-3038.
30 patients with giardiasis attended at 2 family physician's offices were studied. Other 30 who were not carriers of this parasitosis were used as a control group. All the patients underwent a complete dermatological examination and those with parasites were treated with oral metronidazole. The skin diseases were more frequent among those with giardiasis. In both groups, the superficial mycosis was the most common skin disease; however, urticaria was more significantly present in the parasitized than in the control group and it was the only dermatologic affection that was modified after the antiparasitic treatment.
