Abstract

A case-control study was conducted to determine the influence of the preconceptional risk on the characteristics of delivery and of the newborn, and to find out the evolution of the psychomotor, dental, bone, and pondostatural development of infants under one at 35 family physicians offices of the "Tula Aguilera" Teaching Community Polyclinc, in the municipality of Camagüey. The most important result was that one fourth of the case-base study (26.47 %) presented dystocia, whereas the alterations of bone development and the deficient nutritional evaluation at the time of catchment were the most common findings. 64.70 % of children aged 1 had an unfavorable evolution due to maternal malnutririon III-IV.
