ROSELL JUARTE, Ernesto; CASADO CALLADO, Alfonso and MONZON TORRES, Luis. Importancia cuantificada de los síntomas sutiles de amenaza de parto pretérmino. Rev Cubana Med Gen Integr [online]. 2000, vol.16, n.3, pp. 265-269. ISSN 1561-3038.
A case-control study was conducted to assess the quantitated importance of the subtle symptoms of threatened preterm delivery from October, 1993, to April, 1997, in 9 municipalities of the province of Camagüey. 364 cases and 654 controls were studied based on the official registries of perinatal care complemented with a survey. Univariate and bivariate methods and the multivariate of logistic regression were used to process the data. The presence of the subtle symptoms was characterized by: increase or changes in the vaginal losses, lumbar pain or pressure in the hips, low abdominal pain, uterine contractions and abdominal gripes. All of them were associated with preterm birth in that order. Uterine contractions were in the fourth place in importance
