Abstract
RUIZ GONZALEZ, Marlen; PICO BERGANTINOS, María Victoria; ROSICH GARCIA, Lourdes and MORALES LAMADRID, Leonardo. El factor alimentario en la presencia de la deficiencia del hierro. Rev Cubana Med Gen Integr [online]. 2002, vol.18, n.1, pp. 46-52. ISSN 1561-3038.
The most frequent specific nutritional deficiency is iron-deficiency, so the diet consumed by a person may remarkably affects iron absorption. Our objective in making this review is to insist once more on the importance of the preventive work of family physicians to avoid this disease. It is true that many factors may lead to iron-deficiency but diet plays a major role since it can be modified by a good recommendation on iron-rich foodstuffs and their best combination to favor iron-absorption.
