Abstract

ZAPATA MARTINEZ, Alicia; VERGEL RIVERA, Germán M.; TASE MARTINEZ, María Josefa  and  RIVERO MARTINEZ, Nuria. The nursing care process and the pharmacological characteristics of bronchodilators. Rev Cubana Med Gen Integr [online]. 2007, vol.23, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3038.

Due to the frequency of bronchial asthma as a health problem, to the importance of bronchodilators in its symptomatic treatment, and to the need of incorporating the nursing care process to the daily work of these professionals to improve the quality of the health services, it was decided to make a review of the most clinically important pharmacological aspects of bronchodilators aimed at providing a base of knowledge about these drugs that allow a link with the nursing care process, and at contributing to improve the medical attention to the asthmatic patients at the different health care levels of our health system. The characteristics of the bronchodilators are inserted in a practical way in the different stages of the process, including the patient-family education.

Keywords : Treatment of bronchial asthma; bronchodilators; asthmatic patient care; nursing care process.
