Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy during adolescence is a health problem at worldwide and the Cuban young people are not free from this problem. Objective:To determine the behavior of pregnancy in adolescents from the "Aleida Fernández Chardiet" polyclinic between 2005 and 2008. Methods: A cross-sectional and descriptive study was conducted in 90 adolescents got pregnant and had a labor from 2005-2008 seen in health area of above polyclinic, excluding those not resident in such area at study moment. Authors used the bibliographic, documentary study comparing the criteria of different authors as a theoretical procedure, and empirical. Results: There was predominance of nulliparity in the 86.7 % of adolescents, labor dystocia in the 44.5 % and all the low birth weight in the malnourished pregnants. Conclusions: Pregnancy in adolescence continues being a health problem in our area and in our country, the appropriate implementation of the program of pre-conception risk, and the timely detection and control of risk factors associated with it, remains fundamental for its management.
