Abstract

Previous to an accurate analysis of the standing program of Human Anatomy for medical students, a new design was made to introduce some modifications as the reduction of the number of theoretical activities, and the increase of practical classes and seminars. 2nd - and 3rd - year medical students were used as a control group to receive the classes according to the modified program. Students and professors were surveyed to know their acceptance degree. Classes were visited and controlled and a diagnostic test was made to every subject. An increase of 73 % was attained in the practical activities of Anatomy I; 54.9 % in anatomy II; and 72.8 % in Anatomy III. It was also observed a rise of the students’ independent work. the new modifications were well accepted by professors and students. The diagnostic tests showed better results in the experimental group as regards the 3 subjects.
