In our Service, the Ocular Microsurgery Improvement Program is created, with the aim of calculating the residual astigmatism and the evolution of anisoiconia in patients with implanted intraocular lenses; these results are registered in a database with possibilities for retrospective studies. This technique contributes to raise the scientific-technical quality of the residents in this specialty, deepens in their knowledge and practical skills, and besides it allows to assess the individual and joint results of our Service, through computarized methods. The Program is available to any ophthalmologist or to any teaching institution wishing to use this technique.
