Abstract

PERNAS GOMEZ, Marta  and  ARENCIBIA FLORES, Lourdes. El trabajo educativo en el ISCM-H: algunas consideraciones acerca de las premisas para el desarrollo de un plan de acción. Educ Med Super [online]. 1999, vol.13, n.1, pp. 34-38. ISSN 0864-2141.

The University plays a decisive role as a socializing institution and as a formative channel of youth under the present socioeconomic conditions. Although the Medical University shares some condition that may be considered as weaknesses for the development of the educative work with other higher educational centers (HEC), some peculiarities, mainly the heterogenity of the system of influences that prevails during the formative process, contribute to make the educative task in these centers more difficult and complicated. In the face of an important series of adverse conditions, the successful development of the educative work directed to the formation of values demands the application of a humanist methodology characterized by a non compulsory offer of values through the personal example of the professor and the permanent existance of the dialogue and the speces shared by educators and students. As the health sector is an important focus of interest for any effort to break the continuity of the revolutionary work, without underestimating the importance of the professional participation in the extensional and sociopolitical activities, the educative curricular work is essential for the materialization of the process of formation of values among our students.
