Some considerations about the present situation of the ethic formation of medical students that is aimed at training professionals capable of guarantee the historical continuity of the Cuban health system, are made. The development of values has become the fundamental objective of the mission of our University, where the professor is the central element due to the force of his personal example. The main deficiencies are observed in the methodological aspect and, according to the preliminary results of this research, there has not been a sufficiently participative and contextualized process with the required relevance in the development of values among the future health professionals.
