Abstract

AGUIRRE RAYA, Dalila A. Reflections on professional communicative competencies. Educ Med Super [online]. 2005, vol.19, n.3, pp.1-1. ISSN 0864-2141.

This paper presents a conceptual approximation to the study of communicative competencies, taking some authors´ criteria with different approaches as a basis. Theoretical systematization of the topic by researchers is of vital importance to raise the quality of human resources formation and of the professional competency evaluation of the nursing resources in line with the changes in the curricula of the nursing career. Communicative competencies are defined as the potentialities of subjects to suitably relate to other people, expressed in three dimensions: affective-cognitive, communicative and sociocultural. Several approaches were analyzed and the importance of acquiring and developing communicative competencies for the success of professional interaction process within different environments was underlined.
