The development of capacities for the conduction of research in health services and systems covers three levels of approach, that is, the national, the institutional and the individual ones. Within the scope of the aspects related to these levels, the application of pedagogic referents stemming from constructivism by the nursing professionals is effective. This paper analyzed the application of this paradigm for these purposes and included an example in the Cuban setting.
