Abstract

The number of collaborations by Cuban authors with the Argentinean digital review called Lecturas: Educacion Fisica y Deportes has steadily increased in the last five years. This article was aimed at analyzing the formal and technical questions that devalue the materials published in the above-mentioned journal as scientific articles. Well-known regional databases were reviewed to find out if some of them included this journal in their indexing, but this publication has not set the required criteria of format and contents to be considered as a scientific publication in addition that none of these databases covered it. The conclusion was that the option of publishing in certified and indexed journals is by far the only authentic way of being adequately quoted, of achieving due merits and acknowledge after the great efforts involved in the creation of a scientific article.
