Introduction:

The role of the medical specialty coordinators is key because of the complexity of conducting the resident training processes, due to the diversity of specialties and teaching scenarios, as well as the growing enrollment numbers.

Objective:

To design the indicators that allow to evaluate the human behavior of medical specialty coordinators at Calixto García School of Medical Sciences, in correspondence with the demands of today's society.

Methods:

An educational development study was carried out. Theoretical and empirical methods were used, together with a set of logical thinking processes: analysis, synthesis, abstraction, generalization, among others.

Results:

The main regularities in the functions of the medical specialty coordinators were identified, upon the base of the argumentation of the referents about the development of academic postgraduate studies in medical sciences, the specialties and their particularities in the school. All this permitted, from the dimensions of the described variable, to evaluate the human behavior of the medical specialty coordinators by means of the selected indicators.

Conclusions:

The problem determination technology proposed by the theory of advanced education and, within this, the process of parameterization of the object of study, permitted to design the indicators to evaluate the human behavior of the medical specialty coordinators at Calixto García School of Medical Sciences, in correspondence with the demands of today's society.

Keywords : specialty coordinators; human behavior; indicators; academic postgraduate studies.
